Fall semester is almost over, the heat is slowly decreasing, and holiday events are beginning to take place.

Here are all the events you need to know when you are in Gainesville this November:
University of Florida
The UF Gators have three home games this month, their homecoming game against Missouri on the 3rd, South Carolina on the 10th, and finally, Idaho on the 17th. Tailgate and football season are coming to a close so these games are your last chance to see the Gators this year.
The Florida Museum, located on campus, is hosting Starry Night, an observatory event on the 16th that allows you to gaze at the stars from 6 pm – 10 pm. This event is open to the public for free and food is also provided.
Basketball season is underway for the Gators, the women’s team have three home games this month, the men’s team also have three games. Be sure to check this calendar to see when the teams are next playing.
Around Town
The Hippodrome begins its Christmas productions at the end of November with showings and previews of “A Christmas Carol” and “Every Christmas Story Ever Told”, as well as the conclusion of “Let the Right One In” at the beginning of the month.
The Hipp Cinema is screening three independent films this month with the showing of Three Identical Strangers on the 7th and 8th of November. Caniba will be screened on the 1st, 7th and 8th of the month. Finally, Cojot – a Gainesville Jewish Film Festival sneak preview will be screened on the 15th of November. North Florida Regional Medical Center is beginning to deck the duck pond in Christmas lights for the holiday season. Whilst the official lighting isn’t until December 1st at 5 pm, the decorations in the area are beginning to go up as we draw closer to the end of the year.
High Dive Gainesville has many concerts back to back this month, a great experience on the cheap, as well as good music.
There are only two dates left of the Time Machine Tour of Ichetucknee Springs for this year. Embark on this one and a half to two-hour paddling adventure from the head spring, into the forest now that Florida’s humidity has decreased.
The 12th annual Newberry Fall Festival will be held on November 17th in Downtown Newberry. This event is a fun for all ages day out, just on the edges of Gainesville. There will be face painting and a bounce house for the younger ones, with a beer and wine garden for the older ones, plenty of options for everyone in the family to be satisfied with!
