MEET NIAMH LARKIN
"NEEV LARR-kin" - she/her/hers

As a detail-oriented and quick-thinking mass communications professional who has worked in multiple areas of the industry, I have a unique understanding of how to utilize multimedia content to drive audience engagement. I am comfortable with creating and adapting communications strategies that establish and execute goals in line with company objectives, values and purpose.
I currently work as a News Producer at Spectrum News 13 in Orlando, Florida. I am able to produce, booth and manage each of our shows as needed and assigned. I was promoted from the Associate Producer role in just one year after starting my professional career.

I was hand-picked to be a teaching assistant and Executive Producer for the application-only mass communications class Florida Focus, a newsbreak that airs daily on WEDQ, a digital channel of WEDU PBS in Tampa, the 13th largest media market in America. This newscast has helped me realize my love for news producing and refine my multitasking and time-management skills to coach reporters, writers, associate producers and editors to create the best shows possible.
My experiences writing, reporting, anchoring and editing have made me realize how important producing is and how much each role contributes to the overall composition of each show.

During my time at the University of South Florida in Tampa I also completed a double minor in communication and entrepreneurship which has given me business and interpersonal skills that have developed my confidence and networking abilities in both virtual and in-person settings. I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Communications in 2021.
