All students leaving college at the end of the academic semester know the struggle of trying to grab a sublease from an eager freshman starting in the summer.

Once eager freshmen also know the struggle of waiting for the academic year to end so that they can move out of their on-campus housing and away from the grubby dining hall food.

The brand new real estate tech app "MyRentHero" is here to combat both those problems for current students of the University of South Florida and the University of Miami.

MyRentHero is an app that solves both these problems for you!

Founded by a team of successful Miami-based tech entrepreneurs that have had companies in both edtech and fintech, MyRentHero is led by co-founder Greg Rothman as they pilot on the University of South Florida and University of Miami campuses.

Their hope for the company and the app is to build on feedback from students and landlords and launch more campuses in the coming semesters, eventually growing the business nationally.

When asked why he started an app for off-campus housing, Greg Rothman states:

"The college market is complex and by nature, cyclical. But unlike other real estate or accommodations industries where innovation has completely disrupted the market, the off-campus landscape has yet to be fully tapped. We know that students are keen to use the likes of Airbnb for their travel accommodations, so why can't we apply the same mobile-first approach to their off-campus housing?"

My RentHero is a student-centric app, so what the student wants, the app will accommodate!

The app also includes a "Point of Interest" feature which allows you to indicate that you would like to be located close to the nearest Publix or Target, as well as campus.

MyRentHero allows you to look, apply and sign leases then and there right within the app - allowing quick and simple organization of your student housing in the future.

The current version of the app allows students to meet all their needs before they move off-campus, future updates will provide all the needs students will have during the time that they live off-campus.

Though the app launched on March 1st of this year, upcoming updates will introduce the ability to pay rent, file maintenance requests and the ability to sublease from a renter nearby.

Gone will be the days of posting endlessly on Facebook to look for a random student to sublease!

USF Campus Ambassador, Marcus Daffner, helped run the company's first Bull Market table this semester and he is frequently located frequently outside the USF library with free incentives for getting involved with the app.
