5 Emotions Every Student Feels At The Halfway Point Of The Semester

You're halfway done, but you still have another half to go. You have midterms coming out of your ears, assignments multiplying before you can even count what you have right now.

It's overwhelming, and there's no doubt about that. But you've got this.

Everything is doable.

Here's the 5 emotions that you have probably felt through this point of the semester.

1. Anger

It might be anger at your professor, your school entirely, yourself, your work, anything and everything. It's okay, sometimes you just need to get it all out. Let's be honest, you don't want any more assignments on top of what you already have. Even though we're all prone to procrastinating, there still never seems to be enough hours in the day to get everything done that you need to do. The last thing you want during midterm week, is more things to do.

2. Giving up

Everyone has had that moment in college where they reconsider why they are doing this to themselves, why are they devoting so much time to assignments they are stressing about every day? It happens to the best of us. But we still get up, get dressed and go to class the next day, we still turn in that assignment, we get it done. We just need that moment to break ourselves down, ultimately so that we can rebuild ourselves into who we want to be and who we truly are.

3. Crying

It goes hand in hand with giving up. It's not a very visual emotion as it usually happens in our dorm rooms when we're alone. It happens. It's like when we give up, we just need that moment to break ourselves so that we can pick up the pieces. It happens.

4. Sleeping

Ask any college student how they are and we'll all tell you that we're tired or exhausted. Sometimes we honestly just are exhausted. From brain power, from working, from managing life, from procrastinating and rushing. Every now and then, you're going to need that early night, that hour long nap, that 6 hour long nap. It's okay.

5. Burst of motivation

Once you have your nap, your crying session, your broken moment and you've screamed, you realize you CAN do it. You have the power and the mindset. You've got this. Everything is doable, you just need to push through until you're there. Once you have that assignment done, it's done, it's one less thing to worry about.

You got this. You're halfway there!
